Nestled in the quaint little town of Ulverston, Cumbria, Ford Park is a perfect, family -friendly place to bring the little ones. There is a beautiful park for the children to run around and a lovely little nature trail for the kids to follow. They can pick up an activity booklet from the Coach House Café (£2) which includes lots of activities and nature inspired things to spot while out on their adventure. They also have cool workshops for the kids to book onto and they’re always really educational and FUN! They recently held a Veggie Soup Trail –which was held in the kitchen garden. Children had to follow the interactive trail to learn more about growing their own vegetables and discover how to make veggie soup!!!

The gardens are always a beautiful place to explore, through all the seasons. The flowers are so beautiful; the staff and volunteers do a wonderful job of keeping it looking so pretty. If you have little green fingers they can purchase gardening tools and seeds to help them grow their own plants and veggies at home. So sweet! The garden has the most beautiful enchanting door – anyone who Instagrams will appreciate! We like to think it’s where the fairies live…….It’s magical.

After all the outdoor exploring, you can then relax in the Coach House Café. It’s super child-friendly with a basket of toys and books for children to play with. There is plenty of space and the atmosphere is lovely. The menu is varied and with lots of choice. Kids can enjoy healthy meals but there are also lots of tasty treats. My girls love the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. The staff are amazing and will do anything for you. We highly recommend!

If you have older children there is the amazing walk to the top of the Hoad where you will find a local monument “The pepperpot” (as us locals call it) If you’re brave enough you can climb to the very top and the views are spectacular, you can see for miles.

It really is a lovely place to visit with the children if you’re ever in the area. It’s definitely one of our favourites.
