Retreat for the soul.

Christmas thinking has begun; trees are up on the high street, fairy lights are adorning shop windows, there's talk of the new John Lewis advert. So as we begin to tentatively pin shiny, new items on to our wish list Pinterest board, i've noticed a new 'must have' or should I say 'must do' as a Christmas treat. Well it's not really new but the going on a Retreat is the ultimate gift, it seems; a gift of me time, self preservation, lone time and thinking space. Many of us are looking to take a break, disconnect, spend time with people and not computers, and what better way than to treat yourself to that very thing. I've had a root around (not an arduous task at all) to find some perfect little hideaways that offer peace, rest, refuel and reconnect. Here are my top 4 retreats:

  1. SISTERHOOD: NURTURE YOUR CREATIVE SOUL –  CONNECT WITH YOUR INNER WILD disconnect to reconnect blog ACORN & PIP

Founded by Lou Archell in 2015, Lou had a dream, to bring together a group of like minded women, to share stories, passions and their love of nature.  To camp for a weekend under the stars. After months of planning, excitement and sleepless nights – the inaugural Sisterhood Camp took place in May 2015 at Loveland Farm, Devon. During the weekend there were workshops in textile dying, leather craft, flower crown making, feasting, dancing, wild swimming and camp fires. Since their first camp –  such was the interest in the gathering that Sisterhood has grown and they now provide small intimate workshops and suppers around the country.

2. 42 ACRES: CREATING CHANGE FROM THE INSIDE OUTdisconnect to reconnect blog acorn & pip
A true retreat. 42 Acres provide a luxury space for individuals to experience inner transformation, practitioners and healers to share their wisdom, attendees to create change from the inside out. 42 Acres offers a more traditional offering of a retreat with the likes of yoga, Pilates, spa, but alongside this they offer nutritional guidance, therapy, deep healing and log fires. Seriously, i'm in!
{Prices start at £310}
3. SELFISH MOTHER: 24 HOUR RETREAT KID FREE

Selfish Mother has a cult like following, thanks to their awesome parent focused charity tees seen on the likes of Fearne Cotton and Bear Grills.  The Selfish Mother event is a retreat where you can get away for the night and chill out, footloose and kid-free. It's a 24-hour retreat in rural East Sussex at a secret location (they like to keep you guessing).It's an opportunity to hang out with other super mothers and have some down time with the added bonus of great conversation.
{This event had sold out at time of publish but look out for future events as it looks ace!]
4. WILD WOMEN RETREATS: INSPIRATION AND BLESSINGS
This one is a wild card but the Wild Women Retreat is probably the one that would stay with you forever. Based in the heart of Glastonbury, this female centric retreats promises magic. Filled with yoga, wildlife, sharing circles and cake, this appears to be a retreat like no other. women's retreat blog Acorn & Pip
