Acorn & Pip is devoted to creating a playful retail experience, rooted in mindfulness and authenticity. Our eye for quality ensures our toys, clothing, gifts and homewares are carefully curated with kids and family in mind. Our store is a place where the entire family can reconnect, shop, eat, drink, play and make mischief.
Our all day, vegetarian café menu and kids menu is designed with the conscientious consumer in mind. We’re dedicated to using locally and responsibly sourced, organic and palm-oil free produce wherever possible.
We’re lucky to have a whole host of wonderful artisan producers and suppliers right on our doorstep. Over 80% of our food and drink producers and suppliers are located within an eight mile radius of the store, from our friends at nearby speciality coffee roasters Darkwoods, to our super local bakers and cake suppliers, dairy farmers, greengrocers, jam & pickle makers, ice cream suppliers and ethical wholefood pantry.
A full children’s menu, along with snacks and baby food are available in store. We ask that you do not bring your own food or drink from outside.
Specials are also available.
Vegan, gluten-free and alternative options are available for guests with specific dietary requirements.
When you get here
Guests are required to wash hands on arrival and wear a mask whilst moving around the shop. Our new one way system is designed to allow customers to browse and enjoy our space at their leisure and our staff aim to manage the flow of customers to ensure the shop doesn’t become overcrowded and social distancing can be maintained. Customers can remove masks once seated in the café if joining us for food and drink. We ask that customers respect the current government guidance on social distancing and group sizes. Unfortunately we do not allow dogs into the store, but we do have two small tables outside.
Little ones & play
Our aim is to create an easy, relaxed, safe and fun experience for our guests. We offer toys and colouring activities for children to play with at the table, which are sanitised between use. Pram parking and a baby changing area with spare nappies and wet wipes are provided. Children must be supervised and kept close by at all times.
Our events have been put on hold for now but future events can be found here.
Slaithwaite train station is less than a 5 minute walk to our shop. We’re situated on the lines between Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds. Find your train times here!
We are ideally positioned off of the M62 motorway, meaning that you can leave the mayhem of traffic behind you and wind down the hills in to our gorgeous village. There is plenty of parking around the shop. New Street Car park offers all day free parking and nearby Bridge Street (running adjacent to the canal) is unrestricted. Aldi car park allows 3 hours free parking. There is also free on-street parking available around the village for one hour. Our shop post code is HD7 5AN.
